10-12 weeks

I am now about 10-12 weeks along with this pregnancy. It seems like we just found out we were expecting again! Wow how time flies and I think with this pregnancy it will fly by fast with caring for a toddler!

I haven't done my first OB appointment yet. I had one scheduled and had to cancel it for a work meeting. I talked to the scheduling department and she said if I wanted to wait until 12 plus weeks I easily could as long as things were feeling okay for me and I was comfortable with that. I am more than okay waiting to do our first appointment- I think it will just make the pregnancy go by faster.

There are a lot of differences with this pregnancy from when I was pregnant with Brandon. I have a LOT of morning sickness- mostly lasting all day. Some mom friends of mine on momslikeme.com suggested a fountain Coke. I can't stand soda right now but when my morning sickness is bad I chug down a few sips and it seems to help a lot. I am also exhausted non-stop. I nap everyday for at least 20 minutes- sometimes longer depending on the day. Weekends are great because Rob gets up with Brandon at 8am and lets me sleep until I need to wake up. Today it was almost 11am! I can't believe I slept that long- even a screaming little boy, 3 rowdy cats and a beeping cell phone didn't wake me up- which is unusual for a light sleeper like myself. So I will be up for a couple hours and once Brandon goes down for a nap I will too...and sleep hard! And my night will be done by 9pm after we put him to bed and I will fall asleep immediately. I am really surprised at how much I sleep and exhausted I feel. But once I get out of this first trimester I will have enough energy to run a marathon.

I have a few cravings-my grandmas dumplings, Khalrobi, cherries, carrots/radishes, cereal, mashed potatoes. It is just odd cravings at odd times. I am having the most difficult with Grandma Weigel's dumplings. I don't have the slightest clue how to make them (I need to learn) and that is the one thing I can eat every single day! My mom has been kind enough to make them for me recently and they were perfect.

Brandon has been loving the babies at daycare. I don't think he fully understands yet what is going on and that he will have a sibling in a few months but I think he will do really well with a new baby. When we leave daycare at the end of the day he has to go hug baby Dayne (7 months or so). He talks about baby Dayne all the time too.

This is a fun adventure...and a bit scary at times to think we are going to be parents of 2!
