Catch Up..Friday, August 15th

So I need to catch up here.
Friday was a busy day. My (mom) cousin from St. Louis flew in for a visit. It is a neat story actually...Robby is 16 or 17. His family lives in St. Louis and him and his sister are starting school soon. His dad asked what was one more thing he wanted to do before school started...he said he wanted to visit Tim and Diane in Mpls. So, he hopped on a plane (he is the son of a pilot so planes are 'home' to him) and came up for a visit. Do you know any 16 year old kid who wants to spend his last weekend before school starts visiting his aunt, uncle, and cousins in Mpls? We had a fun time.
So...Friday we picked him up and had a couple hours to waste until we needed to be in the other side of St.Paul to pick up some canning jars I got from someone on Craigslist. So we headed to the zoo. This was Brandon's first trip to the zoo and moms first visit in over 15 years! It was PACKED with moms carrying babies, pushing strollers, and grabbing their kids. I had a little panic attack while there that I have turned into what I was seeing. Actually I wasn't since Gpa Tim was pushing the stroller the entire time and I was waddling behind. It was warm but we had a good time. Brandon sat in his stroller most of the time. We took him out to go into the butterfly garden, see the fishes, see the shark (picture below). He did great. Of course, he napped during a large portion of it.
We finished the zoo, visited Sonics for a shake since we don't have them on our side of town, and picked up the jars. We headed home and mom and Brandon were sleepy!

The snow monkeys were our fav! This is a new mom and her very little baby. The baby monkey was nursing and was smaller than our kitties when they were home. SO CUTE!

Gpa Tim with Brandon at the shark tank. That is a shark saying HI to Brandon. We teased him that if he was cranky we would feed him to the sharks! :)

"Mommy, I am SO tired. But I don't want to miss anything...how do I stay awake."
