Brandon's 2nd Birthday....almost 2 months later

Brandon turned 2 on April 21st. It was a Wednesday and we decided to stick with his normal routine of the day since he loved it anyway. He went to daycare at Mrs. Jenny's and they had a party for him with gifts, treats, and songs! After daycare we had swimming lessons and he loves the water so Daddy and Brandon swam their hearts out. After swimming we met family (grandparents) at Perkins for pancakes. Brandon loves pancakes and we go to Perkins after every swimming lesson so we just stuck with that routine and invited the family with. He liked the presents and frosting most of all!

Swimming Lessons

10-12 weeks

I am now about 10-12 weeks along with this pregnancy. It seems like we just found out we were expecting again! Wow how time flies and I think with this pregnancy it will fly by fast with caring for a toddler!

I haven't done my first OB appointment yet. I had one scheduled and had to cancel it for a work meeting. I talked to the scheduling department and she said if I wanted to wait until 12 plus weeks I easily could as long as things were feeling okay for me and I was comfortable with that. I am more than okay waiting to do our first appointment- I think it will just make the pregnancy go by faster.

There are a lot of differences with this pregnancy from when I was pregnant with Brandon. I have a LOT of morning sickness- mostly lasting all day. Some mom friends of mine on momslikeme.com suggested a fountain Coke. I can't stand soda right now but when my morning sickness is bad I chug down a few sips and it seems to help a lot. I am also exhausted non-stop. I nap everyday for at least 20 minutes- sometimes longer depending on the day. Weekends are great because Rob gets up with Brandon at 8am and lets me sleep until I need to wake up. Today it was almost 11am! I can't believe I slept that long- even a screaming little boy, 3 rowdy cats and a beeping cell phone didn't wake me up- which is unusual for a light sleeper like myself. So I will be up for a couple hours and once Brandon goes down for a nap I will too...and sleep hard! And my night will be done by 9pm after we put him to bed and I will fall asleep immediately. I am really surprised at how much I sleep and exhausted I feel. But once I get out of this first trimester I will have enough energy to run a marathon.

I have a few cravings-my grandmas dumplings, Khalrobi, cherries, carrots/radishes, cereal, mashed potatoes. It is just odd cravings at odd times. I am having the most difficult with Grandma Weigel's dumplings. I don't have the slightest clue how to make them (I need to learn) and that is the one thing I can eat every single day! My mom has been kind enough to make them for me recently and they were perfect.

Brandon has been loving the babies at daycare. I don't think he fully understands yet what is going on and that he will have a sibling in a few months but I think he will do really well with a new baby. When we leave daycare at the end of the day he has to go hug baby Dayne (7 months or so). He talks about baby Dayne all the time too.

This is a fun adventure...and a bit scary at times to think we are going to be parents of 2!

Yup

Brandon loves saying 'Yup'.

Vitamin D Intake

We got plenty of Vitamin D today. We spent 5 hours outside mowing, raking, moving rock, weeding....oh and falling down and scraping our knees for the first time this year.

It was a fun day and needless to say all spent lots of time in the shower afterwards- we were covered in dirt and mud and grass! Then took really good, long naps.

Brandon the Big Brother

Brandon is going to be a BIG BROTHER! And NOT to one with fur, fins or four paws.

New Baby Jurgens will be here around January 4th. Maybe he/she will be a little early and we will have the first baby of the year!

Yes, we are very excited and happy. YES we know we just got an adorable puppy! We knew there was a very good chance of us getting a puppy and then getting pregnant. No- this is not a shocker for us.
