Day with mom

Friday was a day with mom. Yes, most days are with mom but dad had to work late so it was just mom and Brandon. He was a very good baby. Brandon slept most of the day, enjoyed the swing, our daily walk to the mailbox, and singing Wheels on the Bus with mom. We met Gma and Gpa for a graduation open house of a gal that mom used to babysit when she was a little girl. Mom has known them for over 15 years or so. Gma and Gpa and Uncle Ry-Ry went too. Since dad was still working we went back to Gma and Gpa's house for an hour. Mom got to work on her needlepoint and Gma and Gpa got to see Brandon awake and playing on the floor. He was very happy. Dad came home at 9pm dripping wet from the storms but he still played with Brandon. It was a fun day. Dad has to work again tomorrow so it is another day with mom!

Great Grandma Day

Thursday was Great Grandma Day! Both haven't met Brandon yet so we had a busy day. Brandon was VERY GOOD! He didn't cry much at all and did great. I am convinced he likes busy days and the chance to get out of the house (like his mother).

We started with a visit to Mike and Nancy's (Rob's dad and step-mom's). Nancy's mom, Marge was in town from Arizonia. She showed mom the famous Grandma B's tummy position with the baby on your lap. Brandon liked it. We will have to try that one more often.

Once Dad got home from work we went to Great Grandma Carney's which is Kay's mom (Rob's Grandma). She lives in Hopkins and was very excited to see Brandon. He was a little fussy but we notice he is more fussy in the evening hours until he heads to bed. He was also hungry.

He has 6 more 'greats' to meet yet. One on the Lathrop (dad's) side and 5 on mom's side. Wow that is a lot! We should add up all his 'greats' with aunts/uncles/cousins too. I am sure we would go way over 100 or more. We are going to try and go to North Dakota in a few weeks to meet Great Grandma Weigel (Mom's G-ma). We will see how Brandon is doing closer to the date as well as dad's work schedule.

Dad is working most of the weekend into the evening too! Brandon promised to be a good sleeper so dad gets plenty of rest at night! :)

Tough Night

Last night was ONE tough night until we got Brandon to sleep. He slept yesterday from 11am to about 2pm and again from 3pm to 4pm...then he was up. He didn't even cat nap all night. This is not like him at all. I think it was one of two things. Either his tummy hurt really bad or he was just being a crabby baby that wanted his way. We tried feeding, rocking, swing, pack and play, music, singing to him, cuddling him, clothes on, clothes off, diaper change, gas drops...until 9;30 last night. Rob was determined to get him to sleep as Brandon's eyes were red from no sleep. I told Rob he had until 10pm and then I was going to put him in the car and take him for a ride. Finally at 9:50 he fell asleep. Rob gently put him in his pack and play next to my side of the bed and he stayed asleep. I was shocked. Then I tried to sleep and for some odd reason I was wide awake and couldn't fall asleep. I finished the Celtics game (they won) and still couldn't fall asleep. It was close to midnight when I finally fell asleep. Brandon woke up twice and did a quick diaper change and feed and went back to sleep. He slept in as well until 9am. I was surprised. Today he is doing great and sleeping well. I will post more later about our fun day today!

Mom learned her lesson

Brandon has been super fussy the last 2 days. Today he slept in the car on the way to a special lunch with an old friend Teri but that was all he slept. He has been up a lot at night as well. I have noticed how hard his tummy is and he is burping and spitting up more often too. That made me think about foods I have eaten going to the jalapeno's I had the other day. I am sure he didn't like them. I deserve the fussy baby then don't I. I feel bad that it happened but we are both learning together. Tuesday Brandon and Mom hung out at home. We decided to plan a nummy dinner for daddy....steak and corn on the cob. Doesn't sound like much but it is what he wanted. The corn is small but REALLY GOOD! We all decided to head to bed early last night. Sure, we were in bed by 9pm BUT still awake at midnight. Hopefully he will sleep tonight. He has really changed lately. We have figured out that he is now about 10 pounds. He is getting taller too but we haven't measured that. He is also focusing more and more on faces. He also knows his mommy and daddy. If he is being held by someone else and hears our voice he tries to find us. It makes us feel loved. Tonight we are watching the Celtics game- maybe from bed to try and get some sleep. GO K.G.!

Happy Memorial Day

Yesterday was another relaxing, lazy day. We all needed a few days to do nothing. We stayed home and watched movies and I did my needlepoint. I have resulted in keeping busy with needlepoint. I am actually working on a piece for Brandon's room that is sports theme and will have his name, birthdate, and weight on it. I am actually enjoying it. Last night we went to my parents for the last bit of the North Dakots clan events. We BBQ'd kabobs and corn on the cob- nummy! We had a fun time with Jan and Brenda. We always have a good time together and laugh too much. Auntie Brenda got to rock Brandon to sleep. He liked that. We got home and attempted to sleep but Brandon was not about sleeping AT ALL last night. We got maybe an hour or two's sleep. He ate for 10 minutes, slept for 20, was up for 20, slept for 20...for almost the entire night. He spit up many times so I am assuming it was something I ate that caused an upset tummy. He cried alot too and just couldn't be comforted- that is how I knew he wasn't feeling all that great. The rest of today went pretty well though. Mom and Brandon slept till 10am (off and on) trying to catch up on sleep. Dad had to get up at 5am for work. Mom tries to let Dad sleep at night since he has to get up early in the morning to go to work. He is willing to get up and help but he gets little sleep as is so having to wake up the few times at night won't help him any. Plus Brandon usually feeds for about 10 minutes and is back in bed so there is no really major need. Dad's time is when he gets home from work at night. Brandon knows his voice right when he walks in! They like 'guy time' they call it!

Anyway- off to bed early tonight since last night wasn't the best. I think Brandon will do better tonight.

Lazy Sunday!

Sunday we had another lazy day. Brandon and Dad hung out in the morning and let mom sleep in. We enjoyed a day together watching tv, napping, reading, and a Target run. Brandon was really good. We met the family at Benihana's for my cousin Jan's Birthday. Since she was here from ND we decided to do something for her B-Day. She doesn't always have the best of days for her B-day since it falls on the day that our other cousin, Missy, was killed in a car accident. This year it will be 11 years. I can't believe it was that long ago. So we went to Benihana's and Brandon slept during the entire meal. He did great. Because it takes a long time to have the meal we got home a little late. We got Brandon to sleep and he slept untill 4am! It was great. I love waking with him in the middle of the night. His expressions are a million times better during the night. They are great. He went back to sleep until 7am and I fed him in bed. We snuggled and cat napped until 9am. It was great. Now he is sleeping on dad while we watch movies today. Yesterday while hanging out at home Brandon and dad had some chats and good photo shots.

This one is him riding a motorcycle.
