The weekend

We had a WONDERFUL weekend!

Friday we headed to the cabin where Brandon got to meet his great-grandparents. They were in town from Tennesse visiting. They are Grandpa Tom's parents. It was great because Grandma Becky is the best cook and she will get right in there and take over the kitchen. Friday night she made us really good tacos! Saturday morning was a nummy french toast bake. Dad, Gpa Tom, and Great Grandpa Floyd went golfing. Auntie Nicky, Mom, and Brandon went to town to shop and then came home to take Brandon's 3 month pictures. While in town we had a great experience!!!! Let me set the scene. Brandon has been having tummy issues which was from a change in formula that we feed him once/twice a day. So he hadn't poo'ed in 3 days so I gave him something to help that. By 8am on Saturday morning he had 2 huge explosions. While in town he had another. The restrooms in town don't have baby changing stations so we had to do it in the front seat of mommy's really nice car. Thank heavens for changing pads and aunties to help. After I took off his onsie I noticed it was almost to his neck. So we had a huge scrub down on my front seat of my car. ICK! Saturday night Dad got to put Brandon to bed. We are working on dad doing more at night. Brandon needs to get more used to dad.
On Sunday Brandon did great. I fed him at midnight because I was going to bed at that time and made too much noise and woke him up. Then he slept until 5:10am! Getting Better!
Sunday we went on a boat ride to see the bald eagles. They were soaring above an island probably looking for food. It was a bit choppy but Brandon slept through the whole thing. We got home and packed up and headed home. Sunday night mom and dad re-arranged their bedroom and then we all headed to bed. It was a great weekend.

The week

This past week has been pretty laid back. Brandon has been having tummy issues. We are trying to figure out if it is the formula or what it could be. He is having BM issues too and we gave in and gave him a tummy tamer medicine that made him go twice in one day...both times needing a bath. We didn't mind. One of the times Rob had just gotten home from work and needed to shower so he took Brandon in with him. He enjoyed his first shower with dad.

New things he is doing....
He loves watching Channel 2 while mom showers in the morning. It is usually Seasme Street or (hate to say this) Barney. It is only about 10 minutes and he actually stays focused pretty well.

We also read alot lately. Today he read 4 books with me. He stayed focused on the pages the entire time and they weren't short books. He likes the pictures. I am impressed.

We have been singing lots too. He loves You Are My Sunshine, Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Head-Shoulders-Knees-and Toes, Abc's, Jesus Loves Me....and basically ANY song. He likes it when we move his arms to the music.

We are TRYING SO HARD to get a better nap schedule down. He is not a sleeper. He didn't nap more than 30 minutes today. I think that will be an ever changing thing.

We bought him a portable bouncer/swing to take with us places. He loves the swing at home so we bought one on sale to bring with us.

That is just a brief update.

Catching Up...update

We have been busy!
We enjoyed a weekend at the cabin. It was just the three of us and Grandpa Tom. That means mom (me) had her dad, husband, and son in a house by herself. She took good care of all of them.
We went up Friday morning. Once we arrived we decided to hit the water. We went for a boat ride. Brandon loved it. He slept for the entire thing but he liked it. We saw the boat parade (this is the first year we weren't in it). We also saw lots of pelicans and 2 bald eagles. Friday night Brandon slept well. We put him down around 9pm and he now sleeps until 4am! YEAH!!! When he wakes he eats for about 20 minutes and then falls back to sleep. Then he comes into bed with me (dad is usually at work by now) at 7am to snuggle. He falls back to sleep until 9am. Saturday morning he slept until 10am! That means I get plenty of sleep even when I wake up with him at night. He slept alot all weekend. He ate a lot too so we chalked it up as a growth spurt.
Saturday dad took the neighbors bobcat and smoothed bumps in the road. Then the big guys went golfing while mom and Brandon took a nap together, went for a walk around the cabin, got dinner ready...He was SO happy. I went to check on him during nap time and he was laughing. A belly laugh! That is his first one. Dad and G-Tom came home and we had kabobs. NUMMY with ham and pineapple! SO NUMMY and LOTS of corn on the cob! Brandon watched us waiting for the day when he can eat corn on the cob. Saturday he grew fussy so we decided to try a Tootsie Pop. He got a few licks (see video). He made a mess so he got a bath and then headed to bed.
Sunday we really didn't do much of anything at the cabin. It was SO hot. We headed home around 4pm and Brandon slept the whole way home. We decided to put him in his crib. Dad fed him, changed him, got his jammies on and got him to sleep in his crib. He fell asleep on his own and now is a big boy sleeping in his own crib in his own room. It was a good time since he sleeps in a crib at the cabin and was used to the crib.
Other fun events or Brandon happenings:
He smiles a lot- especially in the morning. He gets so excited.
He sang with G-Tom and likes his baseball hat- see photos.
He copies daddy and his lip smacking- see video. It is funny!
He has found his feet. He hasn't gotten them to his mouth yet, but he knows they are there.
He loved his Tootsie Pop.
He is sleeping in his own crib.
He rolled over half way. He now sleeps on his side and he has learned how to roll onto his tummy.
He can hold his head up.
He likes to sit against the couch- he thinks he is a big boy.
His eyes have gotten bluer. We think they will stay blue.
He makes perfect eye contact and can stay focused on your face.
WOW- he has grown. Where is mommy's little newborn? This is going SOOOOO fast. He is such a good boy!
I'm going to post a few photos and videos.

July 4th!

Happy 4th of July!

We are now at the cabin with Grandpa Quick. Gma Joni went to visit her sister in Seattle so we are hanging with G-Tom. Brandon had a good week. He is eating more, sleeping longer at night, and has more smiles. He is also holding his head up more.

This past week we visited dad at work. Here are some pictures of Brandon and Dad in the BIG equipment. We will post other photos later since the cord is at home.
Happy 4th.
